I guess it’s not an encouraging thing for women who might be interested in pursuing a career in motorsports.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

And American and European racing bodies are just as culpable. I can't remember last time I've seen programs by FIA, ACO or IMSA to attract women into the cockpit.

She wasn’t an exceptional racer by any standard so no surprises she was unable to be successful there... and her V8 supercars career was two Bathursts where (my opionion) she was carried by Simona De Silvestro to middling results.. in part cause the Altima was a shit car too .

as far as her career switch, good for her. If she’s happy and enjoys what she’s doing then there’s no judgement here.

This is Australia...very few people make any sort of meaningful career in motorsport. Let alone drivers. It always pays to have another gig if you can find one...

Without getting into the pros and cons of her current career vs her past one, looking at that physique I’m impressed at the dedication it took to get as far as being even a mediocre pro-level driver. Strapping into a 6 point harness cannot have been a comfortable  experience for her.

It should probably be noted that few make a meaningful career out of any sport the world over

I believed she started racing because she wanted to do porn and up her value in that industry.

“ If you are good at something, you should never do it for free.” But in all seriousness, if that’s the career she wants, and she is happy, more power to her. Professional Motorsports , or any sport for that matter, is very limited and difficult to make a long term ca reer out of.

I really wish we'd had the chance to see what Simona could do in a proper car. She was often the best Nissan but still outside the top 10. That car was a turd.

It’s very similar to the music industry. There are a few big time orchestras (Chicago, New York, Houston, LA, Berlin, Vienna, London) where you can make six figures. And then there are thousands of orchestras staffed by very talented players who have to teach 60 students a week to eke out a living.

What’s crazy to me is conversely how lucrative, and now easy, porn is.

the chassis was good, the engine was hamstrung by rules that were developed around all of the strengths of the pushrod V8's.
